Cak Blangkon, the Only Indonesian Who Participated in the Las Competition in Japan
Jakarta - Andis Stevin Kadang, a migrant worker in Japan from Surabaya, participated in the welding competition. In Japan, the welding competition has been held since 1965. He represented his company in the competition which was held in stages up to the national level.
Currently, Andis or who is familiarly called Cak Blangkon has only participated in provincial-level competitions after previously passing at the city level. Now, Cak Blangkon is just waiting for the results to be announced whether he will qualify for the next stage.
It is recorded that Cak Blangkon is the first Indonesian to participate in the competition. Previously, in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, Cak Blangkon had participated in similar competitions, but had never passed the next stage.
Andis Stevin Kadang or Cak Blangkon first came to Japan in 2006 and continued to pursue welding in a number of companies.
To VOI through an online interview, Sunday, March 1, Cak Blangkon told how he wanted an Indonesian name to be included in the list of winners in the welding competition.
