Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Try Sutrisno closes his age, the government prepares the last honor
JAKARTA - The sixth Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Try Sutrisno, died at the Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) RSPAD Gatot Soebroto, Jakarta, on Monday morning at around 07.00 WIB.
Information about his death was conveyed through a chain message on behalf of the family and the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP), and was confirmed by a number of officials in the State Secretariat Ministry and the Presidential Security Force (Paspampres).
"Please forgive all the mistakes and mistakes of the deceased during his life. May the deceased's good deeds be accepted by Allah SWT. We ask for prayers from you all so that the deceased will get the best place by his side. Amin, Amin, Amin YRA," read the message from the family.
The deceased's body was bathed at the RSPAD before being taken to the funeral home at Jalan Purwakarta Number 6, Menteng, Central Jakarta. More information about the funeral procession is pending official announcements from the family and the government.
Try Sutrisno was born in Surabaya, East Java, on November 15, 1935. He started his military career through the Army Technical Academy (Atekad) and then served in various strategic units of the Army.
His military career rose when he was entrusted with a number of important positions, including Commander of Kodam IV/Diponegoro, Commander of Kodam V/Jaya, to serving as the Chief of Staff of the Army (KSAD) in the period 1988-1993.
After that, he was appointed as the Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces before finally being elected as Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia to accompany President Soeharto for the 1993-1998 term.
As Vice President, Try Sutrisno is known to be active in various national agendas and the development of national ideology. After his retirement, he continued to be involved in various social and national activities, including in the development of Pancasila values.
Try Sutrisno's departure adds to the list of national figures who have died. The government and the wider community are expected to pay the last respects for his services while serving the country, both as TNI soldiers and as Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.
