Strengthen Governance, Minister PU Takes Over Handling of BPK Findings up to Rp1 Trillion
SEMARANG - Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo took steps to restructure internal supervision following the findings of the Financial Audit Agency (BPK) regarding potential state financial losses in the ministry.
The initial findings in January 2025 noted a potential loss of nearly Rp3 trillion. In the development of the audit as of August 2025, the value was recorded as falling to around Rp1 trillion.
In this context, two officials at the I level, namely Dewi Chomistriana (Director General of Construction) and Dwi Purwantoro (Director General of Land and Public Works), resigned.
"BPK sent a letter twice, January 2025 and August 2025," said Dody in Semarang, Central Java, Sunday, March 1.
Dody assessed that the follow-up to the previous BPK recommendations had not been optimal.
The recommendations include the formation of an ad hoc panel and an acceleration team to return state losses due to problems with third parties.
In response, the PU Ministry will reactivate the Audit Committee and form a special cross-departmental team led directly by the minister.
This step is also strengthened by the support of the Attorney General's Office which places three of its employees in the team.
According to Dody, this strengthening of governance is in line with President Prabowo Subianto's mandate to tighten supervision and accelerate the recovery of state losses in the infrastructure sector.
"I can't clean my house if my broom is dirty," he said.
This step is expected not to interfere with the work unit's operations while accelerating fiscal recovery for the state auditor's findings.
