Kemenag Schedules Isbat Session 1 Syawal 1447 H, Held on March 19 at the Rasjidi Auditorium
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion will hold an isbat session to determine 1 Syawal 1447 Hijriah on Thursday, March 19, 2026, coinciding with 29 Ramadan 1447 H. The session takes place at the H.M. Rasjidi Auditorium, Ministry of Religion Office, Jakarta, starting at 16.00 WIB.
The plan was conveyed by the Director General of Islamic Community Guidance Abu Rokhmad, Sunday (1/3/2026) as reported on the official Kemenag website. This year's session was again centered in the Rasjidi Auditorium after a number of rooms in the area had undergone renovations.
According to Abu, the selection of the location takes into account technical aspects, namely a more representative space for invited guests, as well as a relatively quieter office and traffic situation because some employees and the public are entering the homecoming period. The condition is considered to facilitate the arrangement of vehicle access and parking.
Abu emphasized that preparations were carried out according to procedures - both substantive and technical support. "The implementation of the trial is based on the data of the calculation and the results of the rukyat that have been verified, as well as through a mechanism that is open to the public," he said.
The isbat session, he said, involved various elements: astronomy experts from BMKG, BRIN, planetarium, observatory, representatives of Islamic community organizations, as well as other related institutions. "Because it involves a wide representation, the decision of the isbat session has strong religious legitimacy," said Abu.
Director of Islamic Religious Affairs and Bina Syariah Arsad Hidayat added that technical readiness continued to be perfected, including coordination of monitoring rukyatulhilal at various points in Indonesia. "We have prepared support for the trial facilities and infrastructure, the rukyat reporting system, and coordination with the hilal monitoring points throughout Indonesia," said Arsad. He urged the public to wait for the official announcement of the government after all the trial series were completed.
The series of isbat hearings will begin with a seminar on the position of the crescent moon, followed by verification of the rukyat report from the region, then the determination hearing and official announcement of 1 Syawal 1447 H by the Minister of Religion.
The Ministry of Religion previously held a preparatory meeting for the isbat trial at the Thamrin Ministry of Religion Building on February 27, 2026, attended by the ranks of the Directorate General of Islamic Bimas, including the Secretary of the Directorate General of Islamic Bimas Lubenah Amir and the Sub-Directorate of Hisab Rukyat and Syariah Ismail Fahmi.
