Mario Aji Fails to Finish After Crash in Moto2 Race at the Thailand GP
JAKARTA - Indonesian racer who defended the Idemtsu Honda Team Asia Mario Aji failed to finish (DNF) in the main Moto2 Thailand race at the Chang International Circuit, Buriram, Sunday.
Super Mario who started the race from ninth position failed to continue the race after crashing at the start of the race.
After Mario crashed, shortly after the red flag was raised due to the collision incident experienced by three riders, David Alonso, Filip Salac, and Senna Agius.
The race was eventually repeated with 11 laps remaining, but Mario was unable to continue the rest of the race.
The reason is that the race director made the decision that the riders who are entitled to continue the race are the riders who have completed the third lap.
The course of the Moto2 Thailand race was dominated by Manuel Gonzalez who surprised Izan Guevara.
Izan Guevara who had led the race had to give up the leading position after failing to anticipate the maneuver from Manuel Gonzalez.
Manuel Gonzalez who was in the lead position continued to sharpen his time difference from Izan to finish with a time difference of +0.099 seconds. Meanwhile, the third podium was secured by Daniel Holgado.
