Iranian Government TV Confirms Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Died in Attack
JAKARTA - Iranian state television, Sunday, confirmed that Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had been killed in an Israeli and US attack.
Previously, Israeli media and US President Donald Trump claimed that Khamenei had been killed.
Quoted from ANTARA, Sunday, March 1, 2026, in the report, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has led the country with the longest tenure in the Middle East. He became Iran's supreme leader in 1989 after serving as president from 1981 to 1989.
The United States and Israel launched a series of attacks on Saturday against a number of targets in Iran, including Tehran.
The US military aggression and its main allies in the Middle East not only caused damage but also civilian casualties.
Iran then retaliated for the aggression by launching a retaliatory missile attack against Israeli territory, as well as against US military targets in the Middle East.
