PP TUNAS Effective March 2026, Minister of Communication and Information asks platforms to prepare themselves

JAKARTA - The implementation of Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 concerning the Governance of the Implementation of Electronic Systems in Child Protection (PP TUNAS) will be effective starting March 2026.

In addition, Meutya said that currently the derivative rules in the form of a Minister's Regulation (Permen) are in the finalization stage. The harmonization process has also been carried out with the Ministry of Law.

"But the general outline is like this, the regulation has been harmonized in the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, so we are in the finalization stage internally at Komdigi, to see again in the next few days whether it can be clear for us to sign immediately and then take effect in March," said Meutya to the media on Friday, February 27 in Jakarta.

The Minister of Communication and Information has not explained in more detail what the implementation is like. However, he said, in the near future Komdigi will make a statement regarding PP Tunas. Including information about the implementation, classification, and implementation period will also be announced later.

"But later the complete classification, then also the implementation, the time interval or time interval in the implementation, we will announce hopefully in the near future," he added.

The government targets that this regulation can run effectively from the beginning of its implementation. Therefore, Komdigi asks for technical and administrative readiness from all digital platforms operating in Indonesia.

"We hope that the platforms have also prepared themselves, yes. We feel that we have conveyed enough that this will start in March. So hopefully they will also support," said Meutya.
