Michael Carrick Hints MU Will Extend Harry Maguire's Contract
JAKARTA - Michael Carrick hinted that Manchester United would extend Harry Maguire's contract which will expire next summer.
MU is optimistic that the 32-year-old defender will remain at Old Trafford since being recruited from Leicester City in 2019. Carrick believes Maguire still has an important role in the team.
"Harry is an impressive person. He has had a great career so far and hopefully there are still many great things to come from him," Carrick said as quoted by Antara from The Guardian on Saturday, February 28.
Carrick added that Maguire's experience with the club and the England national team showed his quality and ability.
United will face Crystal Palace tomorrow Sunday with the target of extending the unbeaten record to seven matches during Carrick's era.
Maguire has always been a starter during that period and has become an important figure in the defense.
After facing criticism since joining United, Maguire is now showing his best performance.
The club also want to keep this experienced player, especially after Casemiro is confirmed to leave at the end of this season.
