Even though they have been fighting, the Timmas Women's Futsal Team failed to reach the final round.

JAKARTA - The Indonesian women's futsal national team failed to advance to the final of the 2026 AFF Futsal Cup after losing 2-3 against Australia in the semifinals at Terminal 21 Korat, Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, Saturday.

The defeat, as reported by Antara, made Garuda Pertiwi have to be content with playing the third-place match.

Indonesia was ahead twice in the match. The first goal was scored by Insyafadya Salsabillah in the eighth minute from a quick counterattack.

Australia equalised a minute later from a Clare Holder free-kick.

In the second half, Indonesia again took the lead in the 29th minute through Dhea Febrina's individual action who outwitted Australian goalkeeper Sarah Easthope.

But shortly after, Clare Holder scored her second goal from a dead ball in the 30th minute to change the score to 2-2.

The draw score lasted until the end of normal time, so the match continued to extra time.

In extra time, Australia dominated the ball and continued to press. Meanwhile, Indonesia relies on counterattacks that do not harm the opponent too much.

Indonesia tried to implement a power play strategy in the second extra period, but it didn't work.

Trudy Camilleri finally ensured Australia won the match, through his goal in the last minute of extra time.

Australia advanced to the final to face the other semifinal winner between Thailand and Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Indonesia will face the team that lost to Thailand versus Vietnam, in the match for the third place.
