The Provincial Government Requests the Ministry of Transportation to Build and Repair Transportation Infrastructure in Malut

North Maluku Provincial Government (Pemprov) asked the Ministry of Transportation to build and repair transportation infrastructure to support the economy and open the isolation of areas in Malut.

"Air transportation needs to be added, especially airports around the capital city of Sofifi and the construction of a new airport in the Taliabu and Obi Islands," said Malut's Deputy Governor, Sarbin Sehe, when receiving a working visit from the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Dudy Pruwagandhi and his entourage upon arrival at the Sultan Baabullah Ternate Airport, quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 28.

According to him, in an effort to carry out development in Malut, transportation infrastructure is very important in supporting the economy and opening the isolation of the region in Malut Province.

The Deputy Governor of North Maluku, Sarbin Sehe, explained a number of strategic policies related to transportation that are needed.

At the meeting held in the VIP Room of Sultan Baabullah Airport, the Deputy Governor explained the transportation needs, including realizing an integrated transportation system to facilitate access from the community and facilitating the logistics system in North Maluku Province.

In addition, the Deputy Governor also wants collaboration with the central government in synergizing work programs to accelerate the development of good infrastructure for improving people's welfare.

The development of the necessary transportation infrastructure includes land, sea and air transportation, including roads and crossings, safety facilities and road equipment, crossing ports, additional subsidies for freight transportation, urban transportation services, additional subsidized routes for sea entrepreneurship, additional routes for ships and strengthening the fleet / capacity of sea toll ships.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Dudy Pruwagandhi on this occasion conveyed regarding maritime transportation, his party would issue a policy that would make it easier for business actors, especially in the maritime transportation sector, so that they could develop further.

He is also committed to continuing to develop marine transportation, including the marine toll program.
