Ivan Toney Experiences Strange Incident in the Saudi Pro League
JAKARTA - Ivan Toney was involved in a strange incident in a Saudi Pro League (Saudi Pro League) match when Al Ahli played Damac on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 WIB.
An opponent almost kissed Toney, who later made the former Brentford player say on social media that he had never smelled a breath so bad.
Toney played the full 90 minutes as Al Ahli claimed a 1-0 victory thanks to Franck Kessie's goal.
The incident came after Damac thought they had scored an equalizer in the final minutes, but the goal was overturned by VAR.
Toney then celebrated the goal in front of Jamal Harkass as the Damac defender repeatedly gestured to kiss the English striker. He also stuck his nose to Toney's forehead.
The 29-year-old then responded to the spotlight on the incident on X.
"I've never smelled breath this bad," Toney wrote, adding a vomit emoji.
Toney has been impressive in the Saudi Pro League this season, scoring 23 goals, increasing his chances of making the England national team under Thomas Tuchel for the 2026 World Cup this summer.
The goal collection makes Toney now lead the list of top scorers in the Saudi Pro League, ahead of Julian Quinones (22 goals) and Cristiano Ronaldo (21 goals).
