Ahead of Lebaran 2026, ASDP strengthens the readiness of the Merak-Bakauheni route

JAKARTA - Ahead of the 2026 Lebaran Transportation, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) strengthened the readiness of crossing services on the busiest national route Merak-Bakauheni.

All operational, safety, and traffic management aspects are integrated to present a more orderly and smooth homecoming journey for the community.

ASDP President Director Heru Widodo explained that operational readiness was carried out through intensive coordination with BPTD and KSOP by ensuring that the large-capacity ship fleet operates optimally during the Lebaran period.

Heru said that on the Merak-Bakauheni track, 28-33 ships per day were alerted, the Ciwandan-Wika Beton track was 9-12 ships per day, and the BBJ Bojonegara-BBJ Muara Pilu track was 10-12 ships per day.

"ASDP is also ready to implement the Tiba-Bongkar-Berangkat operation pattern, where the docked ship immediately unloads and returns to sailing without stopping to speed up the rotation of the ship and reduce vehicle queues," he said in an official statement, Friday, February 27.

On the service side, continued Heru, ASDP added express docks, optimized the Port Operation Control Center (POCC) based on real-time monitoring, 24-hour customer service, and the addition of supporting facilities such as portable toilets and strengthening the lighting system of the port area.

To support the smooth flow of homecoming, ASDP is ready to implement a stimulus program to discount port service rates by 100 percent or equivalent to an average of 21.9 percent of the total crossing tariff. In addition, a single tariff policy will be implemented to equalize the rates of regular and express services during certain periods.

The discount tariff stimulus is valid at 14 ports and seven strategic routes, including pedestrians and vehicles of groups II and IVA on regular services, as well as pedestrians and vehicles of group II on express services.

"Meanwhile, the single tariff policy is applied at Merak Port on March 13, 2026 at 12.00 WIB until March 20, 2026 at 15.00 WIB, and at Bakauheni Port on March 23, 2026 at 00.00 WIB until March 29, 2026 at 24.00 WIB," he explained.

ASDP also appeals to service users to buy tickets independently through the Ferizy application and website or official sales channels, ensuring that they have a ticket before departure, and coming to the port according to the schedule on the ticket.

Heru said that filling out the identity data completely and correctly was also emphasized to ensure accurate recording of the manifest.

"All of this preparation is an effort to provide more orderly, safe, and controlled Eid transportation services. ASDP is committed to maintaining inter-island connectivity while ensuring that people's travel is comfortable," said Heru.

The readiness carried out by ASDP received immediate attention from the Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the National Police, Agus Suryo Nugroho, who carried out a working visit to the Lampung and Banten regions.

The review was carried out by combing the crucial points from the arterial road to the port to the operational area of the crossing which is the main node of mobility during Lebaran.

The series of activities continued with a coordination meeting between ministries and stakeholders at the Sosoro Building, Merak Port, to ensure that the strategy for regulating the homecoming flow is integrated from before service users arrive at the port.

During the visit, Kakorlantas also reviewed the Bakauheni Port, the Wika Raya Beton Wharf, and the BBJ Muara Pilu Port.

This year, the capacity of the crossing service is strengthened with the presence of the Sumur Makmur Abadi (SMA) Port which can serve roro ships and landing craft tanks (LCT) for freight and motorcycles.

"This year there is an addition of one new port, namely the Sumur Makmur Abadi Port. We hope that the distribution of vehicles will be faster and the crossing flow will be smoother," said Inspector General Agus.
