Sony Announces Marvel's Wolverine Release Date, Launches September for PS5

JAKARTA - Sony Interactive Entertainment and Insomniac Games officially announced that Marvel's Wolverine will be released exclusively for PlayStation 5 on September 15.

Developed by Insomniac Games, this action-adventure game presents a new interpretation of the iconic character Wolverine inspired by Marvel comics, and promises a darker and more brutal approach to the figure of Logan.

"Developed in collaboration with Marvel Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment, Marvel's Wolverine will be available on the PlayStation 5 console in Fall 2026," the developer wrote in the game description.

Here, players will be invited to explore the mutant's past, while facing various threats with fast, aggressive, and intense claw fights.

The story being carried is also claimed to explore Logan's more obscure heroism compared to the studio's previous typical approach.

Along the way, Wolverine will interact with a number of other iconic Marvel characters such as the mysterious Mystique and the brutal Omega Red.

The original story of the game takes players to various cross-country locations. The adventure will stretch from the island of Madripoor, a snowy expanse in Canada, to the narrow streets of Tokyo. Each location is described as a potential arena for fierce and destructive battles.

"His search for answers will take him on a perilous journey to exotic locations, including the island nation of Madripoor, the snow-covered wilderness of Canada, and the narrow streets of Tokyo," the studio added.

With the release date now announced, the game is one of the most anticipated PlayStation 5 exclusives for the second half of the year.
