Oman Foreign Minister to Meet Vance to Discuss Iran
JAKARTA - The Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) of Oman Badr Albusaidi is scheduled to meet with US Vice President JD Vance and other US officials in Washington on Friday to discuss war prevention with Iran, according to a report from the MS Now TV channel.
Following Thursday's talks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran and the US could hold a new round of negotiations within a week, and the delegation is scheduled to begin technical consultations in Vienna on March 2 at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
As reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Friday, February 27, Iran and the US have held three rounds of negotiations on the Iranian nuclear issue. The Iranian delegation was led by Araghchi, while the US delegation was led by special envoy Steve Witkoff. Currently, both parties are drafting proposals for a possible deal.
Last month, US President Donald Trump said a "big armada" was heading to Iran. He hoped Tehran would agree to negotiate and sign a "fair and equal" deal.
Trump recalled that in June 2025, the US had attacked Iranian nuclear facilities as part of Operation Midnight Hammer.
He said the next attack would be much worse, calling for it not to be allowed to happen.
