Golkar Criticizes East Kalimantan Governor for Rp8.5 Billion State Budget for Cars
JAKARTA - Golkar Party Secretary General Sarmuji said his party had reprimanded East Kalimantan (Kaltim) Governor Rudy Mas'ud to be more efficient, following the plan to procure a state car budget of Rp. 8.5 billion.
"We have communicated with the East Kalimantan Governor. We ask to listen more to public voices in the midst of efficiency," Sarmuji told reporters, Friday, February 27.
From the communication, said Sarmuji, the East Kalimantan Governor explained that the budget for this car had been tapped since 2024 by considering the heavy terrain in his area.
"From the Governor's explanation, this budget is in the 2024 budget, but for cars with such specifications, it must be indented. East Kalimantan has a heavy terrain with an area as large as the area of Java Island," he said.
"The governor also explained that until now he is still using a private car as a government car. I said, it's better even though in principle the governor is entitled to a government car," added the head of the Golkar Faction.
Even so, Sarmuji has reminded his cadres to implement efficiency in the midst of a difficult economic situation.
"But whatever we have to measure with the condition of our people, not with personal measurements," he said.
Sarmuji said the party had reminded the East Kalimantan governor to be wiser and more careful in formulating policies.
"Yes, we remind each other," he concluded.
