NTB Police Bring AKP Malaungi to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police

West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police revealed that it had brought Assistant Police Commissioner (AKP) Malaungi to the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) at the National Police in Jakarta.

The NTB Police Chief, Inspector General Edy Murbowo, confirmed the transfer of AKP Malaungi to Jakarta as a follow-up to the arrest of Koko Erwin on Thursday (26/2) in Tanjung Balai, North Sumatra.

"So, we will join the investigation, yes, from the NTB Police and the Criminal Investigation Unit, so that this will be clearer. The role of each of them is clearer. Where else? Later it will be investigated by the Criminal Investigation Unit and the NTB Police," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 27.

By sending AKP Malaungi to the National Police Headquarters this morning, the National Police Headquarters can now complete the puzzle of the drug trafficking case in the NTB region, considering that Koko Erwin and AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro have been at the National Police Headquarters.

"Maybe there will be (exposure of the case), joint investigation, cooperation to reveal the case so that it is clearer," he said.

The Directorate of Narcotics Crime (Dittipidnarkoba) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police previously confirmed that the Joint Team of Sub-Directorate IV and the NIC Task Force of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Unit had arrested suspected drug trafficker Koko Erwin, who was on the wanted list (DPO).

Koko Erwin was arrested in Tanjung Balai, North Sumatra when he was about to cross into Malaysia on Thursday (26/2).

During the arrest process, officers also arrested two other suspected perpetrators, namely initials A alias Y and R alias K from different locations. The perpetrator A alias Y was arrested in Riau, while R alias K was in Tanjung Balai with Koko Erwin.

They are said to have helped Koko Erwin to flee to Malaysia to avoid being arrested by the police.

The name Koko Erwin first appeared from a press conference held by AKP Malaungi's lawyer, Asmuni.

He said that his client in the examination report as a suspect in the case of circulation at the NTB Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate, had revealed all parties involved.

From the series of news reports at the police investigation, AKP Malaungi when he was the head of the Narcotics Unit of the Bima City Police admitted that he knew Koko Erwin as a drug dealer who gave him 488 grams of methamphetamine at the Marina Inn Hotel, Bima City at the end of 2025.

The handover of the crystal meth in five plastic bags was said to be a follow-up to the bribery of Rp1 billion from Koko Erwin.

The Bandar, who is said to be a long-time player, handed over Rp1 billion with the intention of helping AKP Malaungi fulfill his boss's wishes, had a new-model Alphard car with a price of Rp1.8 billion.

AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro as the Head of the Bima City Police was also mentioned in the minutes of the examination, welcoming Koko Erwin's intention and arranging plans with his subordinates, AKP Malaungi, so that Koko Erwin's methamphetamine business ran smoothly in the jurisdiction of the Bima City Police.
