44 Huntara Blocks in North Aceh Completed Before Eid
JAKARTA - A total of 44 temporary housing blocks (huntara) in Langkahan District, North Aceh Regency, Aceh Province, are targeted to be completed before Lebaran 2026.
This was confirmed by the Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo after reviewing the huntara in the area on Tuesday, February 24.
"With the total huntara that we handle in North Aceh Regency, there are 44 blocks and we target it before Eid is over, so that people can immediately enter," said Dody through a press statement, Thursday, February 26.
Dody explained that his party handled the construction of a total of 44 huntara blocks in North Aceh Regency.
Meanwhile, specifically in Langkahan, a total of five huntara blocks with a capacity of around 60 families (KK) have been completed and are being inhabited by the community.
The construction was carried out on land provided by the North Aceh Regency Government (Pemkab), with a total building area of around 1,440 square meters under the responsibility of the Strategic Infrastructure Directorate General of the Ministry of PU together with the service provider PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk.
Technically, the huntara is built using a modular system with a lightweight steel frame structure that allows the construction process to proceed quickly and efficiently without reducing quality and comfort.
Each unit is designed using insulated panels and is equipped with ventilation, exhaust fans and fans to keep air circulation good and the room not hot.
Apart from residential units, the area is equipped with supporting facilities such as communal toilets, washing areas, shared kitchens, electrical and lighting installations, as well as clean water and sanitation networks.
"This facility is prepared so that the public can continue to carry out daily activities properly while occupying temporary housing," he said.
According to Dody, the data of prospective residents of the huntara is also complete.
He said, this was supported by intensive coordination between his party, BNPB to the local regent.
"So, once we are done building, the public can immediately enter," he said.
Furthermore, said Dody, the construction progress in Langkahan in general has been completed, with minor improvements continuing to be carried out in the field.
"This is all over, so it's just a matter of finishing small jobs," he said.
Through the acceleration of the construction of modular huntara in Langkahan and a number of other points in North Aceh, continued Dody, his party ensured that people affected by disasters could immediately obtain safe and decent temporary housing.
"While waiting for the process of rehabilitation and reconstruction of permanent housing," he concluded.
