King of Jordan: Prabowo is Brave to Protect Palestinian People

JAKARTA - The King of the Kingdom of Jordan Hasyimiah, King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein praised President Prabowo Subianto who has consistently defended the Palestinian people.

"The support of the President for the future of the Palestinian people, this is something that really warms our hearts. I know the President is committed to realizing peace and calm (in Palestine)," said the King of Jordan to President Prabowo during a bilateral meeting at the Basman Palace, Amman, Jordan, Wednesday, February 25.

Then, King Abdullah II continued to call President Prabowo's "commitment to protect the Palestinian people" as courage.

"In my opinion, this is very important. I look forward to this discussion, especially how we can help our brothers in this effort (to achieve peace)," continued the King of Jordan.

King Abdullah II then also praised Prabowo's leadership which was considered important to become the focus of a number of major projects in the region.

"I know, your country is interested in doing it," said the King of Jordan.

The bilateral meeting at the Basman Palace, Wednesday is the main agenda of President Prabowo's visit to Amman City on February 24-25, 2026.

During the meeting, President Prabowo expressed his concern about the violence carried out by the Zionists against the Palestinian people in the West Bank.

According to the President, the incidents that occurred in the West Bank could hinder the peace efforts in Gaza carried out by the Board of Peace (BoP).

"We are very concerned about the incidents that have occurred in the West Bank. We feel that the incident can hinder the success of any efforts that we are both trying to do in Gaza," said President Prabowo to the King of Jordan.

After completing the bilateral meeting at the Basman Palace, the King of Jordan then escorted President Prabowo, who is his old friend, to the Jordanian Air Force Marka Air Base. King Abdullah II drove the vehicle himself that carried him with President Prabowo.

The King of Jordan also continued to accompany his friend to the end of the stairs of the plane. President Prabowo also entered the Garuda Indonesia PK-GIF plane and continued his visit in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
