Jordan Supports Indonesia to Send 8,000 TNI to Gaza

JAKARTA - Foreign Minister Sugiono said that Jordan is committed and ready to support the deployment of Indonesian troops to maintain peace in Gaza, Palestine.

This was conveyed by Sugiono after accompanying the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto to meet with King Abdullah II at the Basman Palace, Amman, Jordan, Wednesday afternoon, February 25 local time.

"The point is that Jordan is also ready to provide support and support to Indonesia when we send troops," said Sugiono.

Apart from that support, the bilateral meeting between Indonesia and Jordan also discussed a number of technical matters related to the military with an agreement to help each other as needed.

The meeting also followed up on several collaborations that had been discussed during the Jordanian King's visit to Jakarta some time ago.

"There are several ongoing processes and there will be follow-up on several things that still need to be followed up," explained Sugiono.

Furthermore, this step is emphasized to strengthen strategic cooperation between Indonesia and Jordan both in the military and diplomatic fields, as well as showing the coordination of the two countries in facing the challenges of security and stability in Gaza and the West Bank.
