King Nassar relies on digital wallets during Ramadan

JAKARTA - Ramadan is always synonymous with increased needs, ranging from fasting preparation, hunting for takjil, to the business of sharing Eid al-Fitr allowances (THR) to families.

In the midst of this busy schedule, singer and public figure, King Nassar, shared his experience in managing finances and daily transactions to remain practical but efficient.

King Nassar who appeared energetic said that in the current digital era, having a versatile digital wallet is a must, especially for those who have high mobility.

King Nassar explained the digital payment application he used. He likened it to a popular cartoon character to illustrate the completeness of the features offered.

"I represent the children of Gen Z. According to me, this is like a magic bag of Doraemon, everything is there. The term 'Palugada' - what do you want, I have it," joked Nassar in South Jakarta, Tuesday, February 24.

For Nassar, ease of access is key. He emphasized that digital platforms are not only about paying for groceries, but must be able to cover all needs, from topping up credit, electricity tokens, to paying routine bills.

One of the most anticipated Ramadan traditions is sharing rezeki or THR. However, the cost of interbank transfer administration is often considered quite disturbing if it is done frequently.

King Nassar also highlighted the importance of finding a platform that offers cost efficiency.

"If you send THR or give it to your family now, if you transfer via bank, there will be admin deductions. Well, find the winner for free admin. It's very efficient for all of us," he explained.

He added that the small savings from the admin costs, if collected, could be allocated for other more urgent needs.

"There are a lot of things that have to be transferred every day. If you can get it for free, admin, we are comfortable, transfer to anyone so it's free," he added.

The moment of breaking the fast together (bukber) often leaves a mess when it comes to dividing the meal bill. King Nassar revealed that he was very helped by the Split Bill feature or bill sharing which is now available in the digital wallet application.

"If you eat with friends, now you just have to take a picture of the receipt (receipt), immediately calculate the division yourself. Automatically billed directly to each friend's application. So the others can't 'get away' or make excuses if they are asked to pay," said Nassar jokingly.

Closing the discussion, King Nassar advised the public to be more wise in utilizing technology during this holy month.

"The point is, whatever you want to do, don't wait. Make it easier to do transactions so that worship is also more calm," he concluded.

As a form of appreciation in the month of blessings, Eka Nilam Dari, President Director, ShopeePay Indonesia mentioned several interactive activities within the application, Goyang ShopeePay.

"So this Goyang ShopeePay has prizes up to Rp. 5 billion! And there is also a Umrah Package. Maybe later King will tell you the details directly. That's the first one, Goyang ShopeePay," said Eka Nilam Dari.

Users are invited to participate in a mobile phone shake game that offers a total prize of billions of rupiah to a package to Mecca.

"Hopefully, this series of programs will not only facilitate transactions, but also provide more benefits for the community. We want to ensure that every Ramadan need, whether it's household affairs, sharing kindness, to entertainment, can be fulfilled in one hand," concluded Eka Nilam Dari.
