Alumni Hina Negara, LPDP CEO: Beasiswa Kalian dari Pajak Masyarakat
JAKARTA - The President Director of the Education Fund Management Agency (LPDP), Sudarto, apologized to the public following a controversy triggered by the statement of one of the LPDP scholarship recipients, Dwi Sasetyaningtyas, which went viral on social media.
The controversy has an impact on her husband, Arya Pamungkas, who is also listed as an LPDP alumni. LPDP requires Arya to return all scholarship funds received during the study period, including additional interest penalties according to the provisions.
"From this experience, we on behalf of LPDP and all alumni express our apologies. We regret that bad things have emerged that have triggered discussions that should have been avoided," said Sudarto in a press conference, Wednesday, February 25.
Sudarto emphasized that the LPDP was committed to maintaining accountability and integrity in the management of public funds.
The current enforcement process is carried out based on the results of thorough investigation and verification.
LPDP ensures that every step of handling is carried out objectively, proportionately, and transparently.
The public is also urged to use the official complaint channel if they have relevant information.
On the other hand, Sudarto reminded all LPDP alumni that scholarship funds are sourced from public tax money so that they must be accompanied by moral responsibility.
"Don't forget, you use tax money (people). Remember that," he said.
However, he believes that the majority of LPDP alumni will continue to contribute positively to the country, ranging from educators, civil servants, to professionals in various sectors.
