KLH Waiting for Results of Laboratory Tests on Cisadane River
JAKARTA - Minister of Environment (LH) Hanif Faisol Nurofiq said his party is still waiting for the results of laboratory tests related to the alleged pesticide contamination in the Cisadane River to determine the current quality raw condition.
"Cisadane, we are still waiting for the results of the lab related to the alleged contamination, because this pesticide lab is under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture," said Minister of Environment/Head of the Environment Control Agency (BPLH) Hanif Faisol Nurofiq as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 25.
He explained that the Ministry of Environment (KLH) itself does not have a laboratory to fully capture the pollution parameters related to pesticides. According to him, the results of the laboratory test will only come out today.
Previously, the Minister of LH said that he had prepared a lawsuit against PT Biotek Saranatama as the owner of a warehouse for storing pesticides that was suspected of polluting the Cisadane River with an area of approximately 22.5 kilometers.
The pollution covers the areas of South Tangerang, Tangerang, and Tangerang Regency in Banten, which resulted in the death of fish in the Jaletreng River to the Cisadane River.
The Tangerang City Environmental Service (DLH) in Banten, in a statement on Tuesday (17/2), confirmed that the quality of the Cisadane River water had met the quality standards, based on laboratory test results.
However, the sterilization and monitoring process continues to be carried out by the Tangerang City DLH until now. Although the Cisadane River has shown recovery.
Not only that, KLH is also still investigating the case of the emergence of a brown-yellow smoke that is suspected to have come from a gas leak at the storage location of PT Vopak Terminal Merak in Cilegon.
"We will file a civil lawsuit in the Cisadane and Vopak cases, which are orange gas in Cilegon," said Hanif.
