80 Percent of Batang Manpower Training to China, Proof of Technology Transfer at KEK Industropolis Batang
KEK Industropolis Batang which is part of the BUMN Holding Danareksa again shows the real impact of investment on improving the quality of local human resources (HR). One of the tenants, PT Ace Medical Products Indonesia, sent 156 Indonesian employees to attend an intensive training in Zhijiang, Hubei, China.
The training program is carried out in two waves, namely Period I in November 2025-February 2026 and Period II in March-June 2026. Of the total participants, 117 people or about 80 percent are workers from Batang, reflecting the company's commitment to empowering local communities since the beginning of the operational phase.
HRGA Manager of PT Ace Medical Products Indonesia, Agnes Galih, explained that the training was carried out directly at the China facility because all production systems, machines, technology, raw materials, and trainers are still centralized there.
"Employees need to understand the production process in its entirety, including operational standards, technological systems, as well as the company's work culture and discipline. Thus, when the facilities in Batang start operating, they are ready to work according to global standards," he said in a written statement, Wednesday, February 25.
The competencies learned include production machine operators and operators, quality assurance (QA), machine technicians, sterilization, waste water management, production material control (PMC), to production systems and technologies. This training not only covers technical aspects, but also strengthens managerial capabilities according to the respective positions of each employee.
One of the participants, Mokhammad Bima Dewanda, a resident of Dk. Tarub, Subah Village, Batang, who is currently serving as Material Control, admitted that the opportunity was an experience that changed his perspective. A graduate of SMK N 1 Kandeman majoring in Electrical Power Installation Engineering, he previously worked as an Instrumentation Maintenance. He learned about the vacancy through the Batang Career website and followed the recruitment process until he was finally selected to attend training in China.
"My feelings are mixed, I am happy to get new experiences in a foreign country while having to adapt to a different environment and language. The biggest challenge is the language and learning new systems such as SAP and data management, because my background is electrical engineering," he said.
According to Bima, the work culture in China is very open to the learning process. "There is no such thing as not being able to. They are very open and happy if we want to learn. The knowledge I get will be applied and shared with colleagues in Batang," he said.
This program is part of the company's long-term strategy. Allmed China management targets that in the next five years PT Ace Medical Products Indonesia's operations can be fully managed and managed by Indonesian employees. After returning to Batang, participants will be placed according to their respective positions and play a role in transferring knowledge to new employees through a mechanism of continuous control and evaluation.
The Regent of Batang, M. Faiz Kurniawan, who visited the training participants in China, said that the investment of this company is targeted to absorb up to 3,500 workers, with the main priority being the people of Batang.
"This is not only about absorbing labor, but about increasing capacity, technology transfer, and the formation of a global work ethic that will strengthen the competitiveness of industries in Batang," he said.
Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of KEK Industropolis Batang, M. Burhan Murtaki, emphasized that this program reflects the quality investment model developed in the region.
"The investment that we encourage in KEK Industropolis Batang is not only building production facilities, but also building human capacity within it. The delivery of local labor for training directly in the investor's country of origin shows a real transfer of technology and knowledge sharing. This is the foundation of long-term industrial competitiveness," he said.
Currently, most of the company's operations are run by local labor, while project and production leadership positions are still held by foreign labor as part of the transition process and transfer of expertise. In the future, the company targets full independence by Indonesian human resources.
