Minister of Youth and Sports Socializes 20 Kemenpora Jagoan Programs for 2026
JAKARTA - The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Erick Thohir, has publicized as many as 20 programs related to youth and sports development that will be carried out by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) in this year's calendar.
The programs were delivered by Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir when he held a meeting with media colleagues in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, WIB evening.
Erick said that this year for the youth of the Ministry of Youth and Sports has a new program, such as the Youth Camp which will combine all youth programs in the Ministry of Youth and Sports and be synergized with the regions.
"For youth programs, we want to focus on running programs that are in line with the conditions of young people, such as Youth Camp and Indonesia Youth Summits," he said.
Indonesia Youth Summits will be held as part of the series of Youth Pledge Day commemorations. In addition, the Ministry of Youth and Sports also held a debate and speech competition program that will be an access for Indonesian youth to express their opinions and thoughts.
Then for sports, the main focus is still on improving the achievements of athletes in the Olympic Games, Asian Games, and SEA Games. These three events are multi-branch sports festivals that Indonesia always follows.
In addition, the Ministry of Youth and Sports is currently working on an athlete pension fund program. Erick is still looking for the best formula so that the distribution of pension funds for retired athletes can run well.
Erick said that his party would continue to follow up on cooperation with the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar), the Ministry of MSME, and the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) to improve the sports ecosystem in Indonesia.
"The Ministry of MSME has a Joint Decree (SKB) that will follow up on the management of sports assets in the regions and a task force will be formed, while the Ministry of Tourism itself has been given nine job desc (job descriptions)," said Erick.
Meanwhile, with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Youth and Sports agreed to implement the 21 sports branches contained in the National Sports Master Plan (DBON) at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
At the high school level (SMA), a choice will be given to run the mother of sport (swimming, athletics, and gymnastics) sports. Schools can later choose according to the conditions of the facilities owned by each of them.
