2026 Income Zakat Obligation Limit Worth Rp7.6 Million, Baznas: This Is the Reference for the Manager

JAKARTA - The National Zakat Agency (Baznas) RI has set the nisab or obligatory zakat for income and services in 2026 at Rp7,640,144 per month or the equivalent of Rp91,681,728 per year and is the minimum standard for the income of a Muslim for zakat of 2.5 percent.

The determination is the result of a deliberation on the nisab of zakat on income and services on Friday, February 20, taking into account the aspects of sharia, regulations, and the economic conditions of the community. The figure refers to the price of 14 karat gold with an equivalent value of 85 grams of gold.

This year's nisab value has increased by 7 percent compared to 2025. This adjustment is in line with the trend of annual wage increases which were recorded at 6.17 percent.

"We must not allow there to be a vacuum of standards. In the management of national zakat, there must be clear benchmarks, because the regulator in this case is Baznas. This standard is a reference for all zakat managers," said Baznas Chairman, Noor Achmad through a statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, quoted by Antara.

Noor explained that his party not only considered the normative aspect, but also the impact on services to the poor who have been implemented through various poverty alleviation programs.

Therefore, the decision to use 14 karat gold is a form of balance between compliance with sharia provisions and the welfare of the community, while still taking into account the average income of the community so as not to burden the muzaki, but is optimal for the empowerment of the mustahik.

Noor explained that the establishment of the 14-karat gold standard was considered relevant, because it had a value that was relatively commensurate with the price of premium rice, while still referring to the parameters of silver and Non-Zakat Income (PTKZ).

Thus, this policy is considered capable of maintaining a balance between the aspects of justice for muzaki and protection for mustahik.

"Thus, the decision to determine the nisab has fulfilled the elements of Aman Syar'i, Aman Regulation, and has taken into account the interests of muzaki and mustahik," said Noor Achmad.

The decision of this deliberation was then stated in the Decree of the Chairman of Baznas No. 15 of 2026 concerning the Zakat Value of Income and Services in 2026 on Saturday (21/2).
