Modus Operandi of the Distribution of Opium in the Tutut in West Bandung Disbanded by the Police
Cimahi - The Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Cimahi Police, West Java, has dismantled the modus operandi for the circulation of methamphetamine, which was put into the shell of rice fields or tutut in Wangunsari Village, Lembang District, West Bandung Regency.
Cimahi Police Chief AKBP Niko Nurallah Adi Putra said the perpetrator hid the methamphetamine in a coconut shell so that the police would not detect it.
"We secured a young man from Lembang who distributed methamphetamine, but disguised it as tutut or snail food," he said in a statement in Cimahi, Wednesday, quoted by Antara.
From the suspect's hands, the police confiscated evidence of 2.08 grams of methamphetamine along with a number of empty rice field snail shells.
The drugs, which had been packaged in small plastic bags, were put into shells, then wrapped again as ready-to-sell packages.
According to Niko, the suspect first looked for snails in the rice fields near his house, then took out the contents of the snail before putting the methamphetamine package inside.
"The method is by sticking or throwing the system at a certain point, so people think it's just garbage," he said.
The circulation was carried out in the Bandung Raya area, including the City of Cimahi, West Bandung Regency, Bandung Regency, and Bandung City and the perpetrators had been carrying out their activities for about three months by reaping a profit of around Rp. 6 million each time a transaction.
Meanwhile, the police are now also hunting for a supplier of methamphetamine with the initials Mengko who is now on the wanted list.
For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 114 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a minimum sentence of five years and a maximum of 20 years in prison and a fine of at least IDR 1 billion.
