All England 2026 Draw Results, Majority of Indonesian Vice Champions Avoid Big Matches
JAKARTA - The majority of Indonesian representatives who will compete at the 2026 All England, which will take place early next month, will avoid big battles against the top badminton-badminton players in the first round.
The world's oldest badminton tournament is scheduled to take place on March 3-8, 2026 at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, England. Indonesia sent as many as 14 representatives to the event which provides a prize of 1.4 million US dollars.
The number consists of two men's singles, one women's singles, five men's doubles, three women's doubles, and three mixed doubles - one of which is a duet of the gado-gado pair Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja with Singapore's Hee Yong Kai Terry.
Gloria/Hee are sure to get a tough test in the first round of the tournament. The reason is that they are facing the first seed Feng Yan Zhe/Huang Dong Ping from China.
The big test in the first round of the BWF Super 1000-level event will also be carried out by the women's doubles Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum. The pair immediately met the third seed from China, Jia Yifan/Zhang Shu Xian.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Indonesian representatives are guaranteed not to face the top seeds in the first round. From the men's singles, Jonatan Christie will meet Jia Heng Jason Teh from Singapore and Alwi Farhan will clash with Ayush Shetty (India).
Putri Kusuma Wardani, as the only hope in the women's singles and has the status of the sixth seed, will try to get through the first round of the tournament by playing against Mia Blichfeldt (Denmark). Even as a seed, Putri has a record of 1-2 wins-losses against Mia.
In the men's doubles, Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana versus Lee Jhe-Huei/Yang Po-Hsuan (China Taipei), Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri meet Ong Yew Sin/Teo Ee Yi (Malaysia), Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin are tested by Kang Min Hyuk/Ki Dong Ju (South Korea).
