LPS Focus on Handling the Liquidation of BPR Prima Master Bank

JAKARTA - The Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) is currently focusing on handling BPR Prima Master Bank Surabaya, which has revoked its business license by the authorities since January 27, 2026.

Secretary of the LPS Agency, Jimmy Ardianto explained, in accordance with the duties and authorities according to Law No. 24 of 2024 concerning the Deposit Insurance Agency, currently the LPS is focusing on two things, namely conducting the liquidation process for banks that have revoked their business permits and paying claims for deposit guarantees for customers.

"In carrying out the process of paying the claims for the guarantee of customer deposits, LPS has announced the first payment for 88 percent of the savings accounts from a total of 3,587 savings accounts in this BPR on February 2, 2026," he said, Wednesday, February 25.

Jimmy added that the list of customers who have been determined in the payment of this deposit claim can be viewed at the BPR Prima Master Bank office or through the LPS website. Customers who have been included in the first phase payment list can process the disbursement of their deposit claims at Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) as the paying bank that has been appointed by LPS.

Customers are also asked to submit proof of account ownership, such as a savings book or bill, and personal identity for individual customers in the form of an ID card/SIM/passport or for institutional/corporate customers in the form of a board of directors in accordance with the applicable legality and articles of association.

"For customers who have not been determined for the payment of deposit claims in this first phase, they can wait for the announcement of the next phase of payment," he said.

According to the law, the deadline for LPS to complete the data verification process for customer deposits is 90 working days from the time the bank's business license is revoked. Meanwhile, debtors or customers of BPR Prima Master Bank loan funds can still make installment or loan repayments by contacting the LPS Liquidation Team at the BPR office.

LPS also appeals to all BPR Prima Master Bank customers to remain calm and not be provoked by parties who claim to be able to help the process of withdrawing deposits by asking for rewards or certain fees.

"Customers and related parties are also asked to support the liquidation process and the payment of this deposit claim can run smoothly and in accordance with the provisions of the legislation," he said.
