Taylor Swift's Response After Opalite Climbed the Billboard Hot 100 Chart
JAKARTA - Taylor Swift has once again proven his dominance in the global music scene by scoring a record that has been awaited for more than a decade.
Through a recent upload on his personal Instagram account, Swift celebrated the success of the single "Opalite" which managed to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
This achievement is very special because it marks the first time Swift has placed two number one songs from the same album since the era of the album "1989" which was released in 2014.
Swift's excitement was evident as she greeted her millions of followers. The 36-year-old pop star expressed her gratitude to fans for their continued massive support.
For him, the success of "Opalite" following the footsteps of the first single from the album "The Life of a Showgirl" is an emotional achievement that reminds him of the golden age 12 years ago.
"Just some 'Opalite' memories to celebrate the number one on the Hot 100 that you guys gave this song," Swift said, quoting the caption of the upload, Wednesday, February 25.
"I can't even sum up my excitement and I'm so blown away by the love you guys have shown for this song and video," he continued.
Swift added how much the numbers meant to her career journey. She was so excited that she joked about wanting to celebrate this victory in a unique way.
"To give perspective... This is actually the first time I've had two number one songs on the Hot 100 from one album since the album '1989' came out in 2014, almost twelve years ago! I know that's a lot of numbers, but it all comes down to my gratitude to the fans who helped make this happen by welcoming this song into your lives with open arms. I'm really really excited," said Swift.
In his upload, Travis Kelce's lover also shared behind-the-scenes footage of the making of "Opalite" with Max Martin and Shellback as producers.
Interestingly, there is a video showing Swift wearing a 1980s-style costume complete with a brown wig.
In the video, Swift jokes about her new identity. "Never in my life have I felt so myself. This is actually the figure that should be my identity," he said.
The success of "Opalite" is inseparable from the concept of the music video which is studded with stars such as Domhnall Gleeson, Graham Norton, and Cillian Murphy.
Based on data from Billboard, Swift's dominance on the charts in 2026 further strengthened her position as the artist with the most number one songs in the decade.
The album "The Life of a Showgirl" has been certified platinum in just a few months since its release in October 2025.
