Agrinas Claims to Save Rp46.5 Trillion through the Import of 105 Thousand Vehicles from India
JAKARTA - PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara stated that it was able to carry out budget efficiency of up to IDR 46.5 trillion through the procurement of 105 thousand units of light commercial vehicles, in the form of pick-up trucks and light trucks, which were imported from India.
The vehicle will be used to support the operations of the Red and White Village/Subdistrict Cooperative (KDKMP)
The President Director of PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, Joao Angelo De Sousa, explained that the savings came from the allocation of the company's procurement budget for facilities and infrastructure sourced from Himbara bank loans of IDR 200 trillion.
"With the procurement of these facilities, Agrinas Pangan can achieve an efficiency of Rp. 46.5 trillion, later you guys will see it can be photographed later but maybe we just give the total figure, because this is the total detail later we will give to the Ministry of Finance," he said at a press conference, Tuesday, February 24.
According to him, the decision to import vehicles from India has gone through an open process and provided opportunities for various parties and based on the data owned by the company, domestic manufacturers are considered not yet able to meet the needs in terms of quantity and specifications needed.
"I think the procurement of cars from India is quite fair according to me because we have given the opportunity to all parties and it turns out that our manufacturers are indeed unable and I can show it with data," he explained.
Joao also emphasized that all savings obtained would be returned to the state because the funds used came from the state budget, which was the people's money.
In addition, he ensured that the management of the budget would be audited in accordance with the applicable accounting provisions, and not a single rupiah would be used outside the interests of the state.
"The money we use is the state budget, and it is the people's money and we will return it and we will be examined according to the rules that apply in accounting and there is not a single penny that we can use other than to be fully returned to the state," he explained.
Previously, Agrinas Pangan Nusantara procured 105 thousand units of light commercial vehicles from two automotive manufacturers from India, namely Tata Motors and Mahindra.
From Tata Motors, Agrinas ordered 70 thousand units of vehicles consisting of 35 thousand units of the Yodha PU model and 35 thousand units of the Ultra T.7 truck.
Meanwhile, as many as 35 thousand units of Mahindra Scorpio Pik Up were ordered from Mahindra.
Thus, the total vehicles to be brought in reached 105 thousand units.
