Indonesian Embassy in Belgrade Promotes Indonesian Tourism Destinations at the 47th International Tourism Fair
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Embassy in Belgrade participated in the 47th International Tourism Fair (ITF) held on February 19-22 to promote various tourism destinations in Indonesia.
"Participation in the 47th ITF, in addition to being intended to promote Indonesia as a tourist destination in Central and South Europe, is also a good opportunity to continue to encourage the collaboration of the Indonesian Embassy in Belgrade with the private sector in supporting the Indonesian tourism sector," said the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Serbia Andreano Erwin, in a written statement as quoted (24/2).
The 47th ITF, officially opened by the Prime Minister of Serbia Prof. Dr. Đuro Macut, was attended by more than 350 exhibitors from 18 countries. The Indonesian Pavilion, which occupies the main area of the exhibition hall, is one of the main attractions.
The results of the collaboration between the Indonesian Embassy in Belgrade and four travel agency companies; Indoreisen Travel, Asvinia Travel, Jungle Travel, and Disko Travel, managed to sell hundreds of tourist packages to Indonesia to Serbian tourists and visitors from neighboring countries around Serbia.
In this exhibition, the Indonesian Embassy also managed to facilitate business commitments (B2B) between travel agencies in Serbia and Indonesian travel agencies, attracting Serbian companies to recruit Indonesian labor in the hospitality sector, including hotels and restaurants.
This increased cooperation is supported by the positive trend in the number of Serbian tourist visits to Indonesia which jumped from 3,727 in 2023, to around 5,000 tourists in 2025 based on BPS RI data.
The Indonesian Pavilion also presents typical Indonesian products such as coffee and snacks for visitors to enjoy. This is even more interesting with the appearance of various traditional dances by the Bidadari Dance Studio under the auspices of the Indonesian Embassy in Belgrade.
It is known that the 47th ITF is a series of major activities of the Serbian Government towards the implementation of Expo 2027 in Belgrade which is projected to provide a massive boost to the tourism and hospitality industries.
"The positive response of the Serbian people throughout the exhibition proves that the tourist destination to Indonesia, even though it is geographically far from Serbia, is still a special attraction to visit," said Ambassador Andreano.
