Gabriel Magalhaes Sindir Richarlison after North London Derby Win
JAKARTA - Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes jokingly mocked his compatriot, Richarlison, on Sunday, February 22, 2026, after a crushing 4-1 victory in the North London Derby at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres both scored twice to cancel out Randal Kolo Muani's goal as the league leaders eased title fears after losing points in their previous two league games.
The result further pushed Spurs into the relegation zone. The team under Igor Tudor is now only four points above the relegation zone with 11 games remaining.
After the victory, Gabriel used his social media to pose in front of the Best Player of the Match award that night, holding a playing card with the number 4, a reference to the final score of the match.
Even worse for Spurs fans, Richarlison was also tagged in the picture, continuing an old joke where the two players mock each other after various North London Derby results. It added shame to the Spurs striker's defeat.
Apart from that, after the match, Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta said the victory showed Arsenal's ability in the league title race.
"It feels like we showed our ability. I'm very proud of what I saw on the field, especially in the context of how we lived the last 72 hours."
"After what happened against Wolverhampton Wanderers and losing two points with the last kick of the game, it was difficult. However, that's the beauty of this game."
"There is no explanation after watching the game again and how we could draw. From any point of view, you say it's impossible and you have to watch it again and say it won't happen."
"But it's happened and then you have to get up because you feel angry, upset and even ashamed," Arteta said.
On the other hand, former player turned pundit Jamie Redknapp believes Spurs are in big danger as relegation fears grow after the club have not recorded a league win in 2026.
"They can't keep playing like this. They haven't won in 2026. However, Arsenal are fantastic, it was a brilliant performance from them. They were too good."
"They are a lot better than Tottenham, like two different leagues. If Tottenham are not careful, they might be in a different league next season," Redknapp said.
