iQOO 15R Officially Launched, Equipped with 7,600mAh Battery, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 144Hz Screen
JAKARTA - iQOO is expanding its flagship line in India by releasing the iQOO 15R, a device positioned below the iQOO 15 but still carries high-end specifications. The strategy is clear: high performance, jumbo battery, and a design that is still comfortable to hold, targeting users who rely on their phones for work, gaming, and entertainment throughout the day.
The iQOO 15R's cooking power relies on the 3nm-based Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, combined with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage - a combination that brings this device to a premium performance level. For gaming stability, iQOO embeds the Q2 SuperComputing Chip which is claimed to be able to deliver a stable 144FPS and an increase in game resolution up to 1.5K.
Heat management is an important focus. The device is equipped with a 6.5K IceCore VC cooling chamber and a double graphite layer to keep the temperature under control during long gaming sessions. In the increasingly aggressive Indian market in the gaming segment, this approach is a prominent selling point.
The screen uses a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with a 1,5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The local brightness level reaches 5,000 nits, while the 4,320Hz PWM dimming technology helps reduce eye strain. This flat panel is protected by Schott Xensation Alpha glass.
One of the biggest highlights is the 7,600mAh capacity silicon anode battery - a figure that is rarely seen in a phone with a thickness of only 7.9mm in the Dark Knight variant and 8.1mm in the Triumph Silver. A 100W charging cable is included, along with a bypass charging feature that allows power to be directly fed into the system while playing games, minimizing heat on the battery.
In the camera sector, the iQOO 15R relies on a 50MP Sony LYT-700V main sensor with OIS, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide lens. The 32MP front camera handles selfie and video call needs. Video recording is supported up to 4K 60fps with stabilization.
The device runs Android 16-based OriginOS 6, with four years of operating system updates and six years of security updates - a commitment that is increasingly becoming the new standard in the flagship segment.
Regarding the price, the iQOO 15R is marketed in India starting from Rs 44,999 for the 8GB/256GB variant, Rs 47,999 for 12GB/256GB, and Rs 52,999 for 12GB/512GB. If converted to rupiah based on the current market exchange rate, the price is approximately equivalent to Rp8.5 million for the 8GB/256GB variant, around Rp9.1 million for 12GB/256GB, and around Rp10 million for 12GB/512GB. With certain bank offers, the initial effective price can drop to around Rp7.7 million.
Pre-booking opens from February 24, while official sales start on March 3 via Amazon India, iQOO online store, certain vivo outlets, as well as offline retail outlets.
With a combination of a 144Hz screen, the latest generation chipset, and a super-large battery, iQOO 15R tries to present aggressive performance and extreme durability in one package that remains slim. In the midst of fierce competition in the affordable flagship segment, the 7,600mAh battery in this sub-8mm body could be a real differentiator for consumers.
