Spotify Expands AI-Based Playlist Maker Feature Trial to More Countries
JAKARTA - Spotify is expanding the testing of the Prompted Playlist feature to the UK, Ireland, Australia, and Sweden. With this feature, Premium users can easily create playlists.
This Artificial Intelligence (AI) based feature can create a special playlist just by typing a simple sentence description. Users can describe moods, memories, to specific activities to get a more personal music list.
The description can include genres, certain musical eras, to references to the desired lyrics and instruments. Prompted Playlist will combine personal listening history with current popular music and cultural trends.
Interestingly, each song that appears will be accompanied by a brief explanation of why the song is in accordance with the instructions that the user provides. Later, users can refine the results of the playlist by editing the command whenever.
To use the feature, users only need to tap the 'Create' menu and select the Prompted Playlist option in their app. Here is an example of a prompt that can be used.
"Make a playlist of Korean pop hits from the 2010s that can make me more energetic. Add the best songs that I often play and fill the gaps with hits from that era that might have been missed."
During this beta testing phase, Spotify imposes certain usage restrictions to monitor performance and receive feedback from listeners. It is not yet certain when this feature will be released to the public in a stable version.
