Iranian Military Helicopter Falls in a Fruit Market, 4 Dead Including 2 Traders
JAKARTA - An Iranian Army (AD) helicopter crashed in a fruit market in Dorcheh City, Central Isfahan Province on Tuesday, February 24.
This incident killed the pilot, co-pilot, and two traders in the market.
Reuters reported that the helicopter caught fire when it crashed. However, the flames were quickly extinguished by firefighters.
Experts say Iran has a poor aviation safety record, with repeated accidents, many involving planes bought before the 1979 Islamic Revolution and a lack of genuine spare parts for maintenance.
Last week, an American-made F-4 fighter plane belonging to the Iranian regular air force crashed in the western Hamadan province, killing a pilot during the military exercise.
