Apple Will Produce Mac Mini in the US Starting This Year

Apple revealed plans to produce a new Mac model, the Mac Mini, this year. The small-sized compact computer will be produced in the United States (US).

This plan was revealed directly by Sabih Khan, Apple's Head of Operations, in an exclusive interview. This news shows that Apple will strengthen its domestic manufacturing again.

"We're really excited to tell you that later this year we'll start producing Mac mini here," Khan told the Wall Street Journal, quoted on Tuesday, February 24.

Currently, the Mac Mini product line is still assembled in overseas facilities such as Vietnam and China. Apple plans to gradually increase production capacity in the US to serve customers in the region faster.

Apple's production facility in Houston is said to be able to produce thousands of computer units every week. In the future, this volume will continue to be increased, in line with the optimization of the factory infrastructure.

The Mac Mini is not the only Mac model produced in the US. Previously, Apple had tried to assemble a limited model of the Mac Pro in America. However, this project seems to have a larger scale and is integrated globally.

This is seen in a video tour of the facility that shows the progress of a factory of another major component supplier in Arizona. This shows that Apple's production ecosystem in the US is getting stronger.
