President Prabowo Witnesses Cooperation between Danatara and Arm Limited of the United Kingdom

LONDON - President Prabowo Subianto witnessed the signing of a framework between Danantara and Arm Limited in London, England, Monday, February 23 local time.

This framework, among others, strengthens Indonesia's vision in mastering semiconductor technology or chips. Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said that the cooperation was a strategic step so that Indonesia could master semiconductor technology from the upstream. This is also the first step for Indonesia to become a global chip player.

Arm Limited is a well-known British technology company that now controls about 96 percent of chip technology for automotive and almost 94 percent of the data center or AI market globally.

On the same occasion, Airlangga explained that through this cooperation Indonesia will train 15,000 engineers in the Arm ecosystem. Furthermore, Airlangga said, according to President Prabowo's instructions, the cooperation plan will also be continued to the stage of developing more advanced chips.

Thus, Indonesia will later have the ability in the field of semiconductor design and technology independently.

On the same occasion, Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani explained that in the development of this chip, Indonesia targets six industrial markets, namely automotive technology, internet of things, data centers, home appliances, autonomous vehicles, and quantum computing.
