Celebrate Eid, Repair Damaged Toll Roads in Central Java Before March 10
JAKARTA - The completion of repairs on the toll road in Central Java (Jateng) is targeted to be completed by no later than March 10, 2026.
This followed a working visit carried out by Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives together with the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi, Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi, BMKG, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) to the Secretary of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of Public Works (PU) Ni Komang on Friday, February 20.
The acceleration of handling damage with the target of zero potholes before March 10, 2026 is carried out to ensure a conducive condition before the peak period of the upcoming Lebaran homecoming.
"Regarding the readiness of toll road conditions ahead of Eid, BPJT together with the Toll Road Business Agency (BUJT) has carried out a thorough monitoring and evaluation of the road surface, bridge, drainage and road equipment conditions," Ni Komang said in an upload of the official BPJT Instagram account @pupr_bpjt, quoted Tuesday, February 24.
"The target set is a zero pothole condition before the peak homecoming period with the completion of handling damage no later than before March 10, 2026," he continued.
In addition, there are three other aspects that are the main concerns in the working visit carried out last week. Among others, strengthening safety on high-speed sections through the improvement of signs, markings and supervision to reduce the risk of accidents, including triggered by vehicles over dimension and over loading (ODOL).
Then, readiness to face the potential of medium to very high rainfall until March 2026, including anticipation of puddles so as not to interfere with traffic flow. Finally, optimizing the service of Rest and Service (TIP) and supporting the operation of functional sections to maintain the smoothness of community mobility during the Lebaran period.
Through the working visit of the Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives, coordination between stakeholders continues to be strengthened to ensure the readiness of transportation infrastructure in Central Java Province.
The synergy between the central government, local government, BUJT and other stakeholders is expected to be able to maintain the safety of road users while improving the quality of toll road services on an ongoing basis, especially in the face of increased community mobility during Eid al-Fitr 2026.
