DPR leadership updates the bill on the expropriation of assets, PPRT and employment: immediately hold public participation

JAKARTA - The leadership of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) provided information regarding the development of revisions to the Law on Asset Confiscation, Protection of Domestic Workers (PPRT), and Employment. Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI Sufmi Dasco Ahmad said that the DPR would soon hold public participation regarding the three bills.

As is known, the DPR RI is currently undergoing a recess until March 9, 2026. So there is no agenda for meetings and activities of DPR members in their respective electoral districts.

Dasco said the DPR had committed that after passing the Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code, it would immediately spend money on issues related to changes in the umbrella law on corruption and asset confiscation. Later, he said, the DPR would hold a meeting to seek public input including the PPRT and Employment Bills.

"Yes, we at that time had stated that when the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure Code, and then also compiled with the Corruption Law were completed, Commission III of the DPR RI was and is currently shopping for problems and is in the process of drafting academic manuscripts and bills," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, quoted Tuesday, February 24.

"So, when it is completed, we will also immediately follow up with the PPRT and Employment Law, we will immediately hold public participation, and then after that we will discuss the law," he continued.

For discussion of the Manpower Bill, Dasco said the DPR would schedule it after the opening of the session.

"So this DPR is on recess from February 19 to March 19 (March 9). Well, then, March 19 will enter and then cut Lebaran, then after that we have agreed through Rapim yesterday before the recess that the Employment Law will start to run by holding public participation in the DPR," he explained.

"Then also hold meetings and form teams with labor federations," added Dasco.
