Three Police in Riau Positive for Drugs During a Random Urine Test
PEKANBARU - A total of three personnel at the Riau Regional Police were found positive for narcotics and illegal drugs or drugs based on the results of simultaneous urine tests in the police and police precincts on Monday.
Head of Public Relations of the Riau Police, Kombes Zahwani Pandra Arsyad, said at the police level, one person was found whose urine contained methamphetamine.
Meanwhile, at the police level, two personnel who were positive for drugs, respectively from the Dumai and Pelalawan Police.
"The three personnel who were found to have positive urine containing methamphetamine will be further investigated," said Pandra as reported by ANTARA, Monday, February 23.
The Riau Police ensured that all processes were in accordance with applicable regulations by referring to the Regulation of the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Code of Ethics of the Police Profession and Code of Ethics Commission.
The process is carried out through the examination mechanism by the Profession and Safety Division until the implementation of the Police Profession Ethics Code Commission (KKEP) Meeting.
He explained that the sudden implementation of the urine test was also a strong message for all personnel to maintain integrity and professionalism in every task.
"This is also a preventive and repressive step in maintaining professionalism and realizing the institution of the National Police," he added.
The random urine test was carried out without exception, ranging from the police chief, wakapolda, senior officials, police chief, to all personnel at the level of the sector police.
The implementation of this urine test is also one form of supervision and control in stages of the members of the National Police, in accordance with the Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2022 concerning Inherent Supervision in the Police Environment.
"Polda Riau is not playing around in efforts to eradicate drugs, including internally. This is proof that supervision is carried out in a tangible and sustainable manner. If there are members who are proven to have violated it, it will certainly be processed according to the rules and presented publicly to the public," said Pandra.
