MotoGP 2026 Series Schedule in Thailand This Weekend

JAKARTA - The 2026 MotoGP race will begin this weekend. The first series of the world's most prestigious motorcycle racing event will be opened at the Chang International Circuit, Thailand.

The race schedule there will take place from Thursday, February 27 to Sunday, March 1, 2026. Currently, the riders are there to undergo pre-season testing ahead of the opening.

In the two preseason tests before the first series, the results were also varied. Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing) who was runner-up last season, managed to come out as the best at Sepang and Marco Bezzecchi from Aprilia managed to record the best result at Buriram.

The race in Buriram will start with the first Free Practice or Free Practice 1 (FP1) of Moto3 on Thursday, February 27, 2026, at 09.00-09.35 WIB. After that, FP1 Moto2 and MotoGP will take place until 11.30 WIB.

The first day session then continued to Practice. In a row, it started with Moto3 at 13.15-13.50 WIB, Moto2 at 14.05-14.45 WIB, and closed with MotoGP at 15.00-16.00 WIB.

The race agenda on the second day will be much more crowded, which includes the Second Free Practice (FP2), First and Second Qualifying (Q1 and Q2), as well as the MotoGP Sprint Race. The Sprint race is scheduled to take place at 15.00 WIB and takes place in 13 laps.

The peak of the race will take place on Sunday, March 1, 2026, afternoon WIB. The agenda of the last day will begin with the Moto3 race at 12.00 WIB which takes place 19 laps, followed by the Moto2 race at 13.15 WIB which is held in 22 laps, and MotoGP at 15.00 WIB in 26 laps.

This year, MotoGP is expected to be much more competitive. Marc Marquez, who dominated his debut with the Ducati Lenovo Team last year, is expected to face tougher competition. One of them is from his teammate Francesco Bagnaia.

Bagnaia had a very bad season last year so he had to settle for finishing the season in fifth place in the final standings. However, in this year's pre-season test, he showed good results.

Ducati, which has won four world championships in the last four years, is certainly still very much taken into account. If Bagnaia is able to compete on the track, this season is likely to be tight, including threats from teams such as Aprilia.
