Pursuit of 6 Percent Growth, State Expenditure to Reach Rp809 Trillion in the First Quarter of 2026
JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa targets the realization of state expenditures in the first quarter of 2026 at Rp. 809 trillion.
He explained that the budget was prepared as a step to encourage economic growth to approach 6 percent.
"The growth projection for the first quarter of 2026 reaches around 5.5 percent to 6 percent and full year 2026 if in the APBN is 5.4 percent, but we will push it towards 6 percent as well. The government ensures optimal state spending. The realization of spending for the first quarter of 2026 is targeted at Rp. 809 trillion," he said in a KiTA APBN press conference, Monday, February 23.
Of the total budget of Rp809 trillion, Rp62 trillion was allocated for the acceleration of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.
In addition, Rp55 trillion has been prepared for the payment of Eid Bonus (THR) for ASN, TNI, and Polri.
In addition, the government has also budgeted Rp6 trillion for post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction in Sumatra, as well as Rp15 trillion for the I-2026 quarter economic stimulus package.
He added that in order to strengthen consumption and investment, the government encouraged the formation of 30,000 units of Red and White Village/Neighborhood Cooperatives (KDMP) with a budget support of Rp. 90 trillion.
In the housing sector, an allocation of Rp. 20 trillion has been allocated for the construction of 190,000 units of commercial houses, subsidized houses, and the Self-Help Housing Stimulus Assistance (BSPS) program.
In addition, the government will also start the groundbreaking of the Danantara downstream project with an investment value of up to 7 billion US dollars or around Rp. 110 trillion.
"The seasonal factors of the Chinese New Year and Eid holidays and the WFA policy also support community consumption activities in the first quarter of 2026," he said.
