Three Measles and Rubella Cases Found by the Grobogan Health Office

Grobogan - The Health Office (Dinkes) of Grobogan Regency, Central Java, has found three positive cases of measles and rubella based on laboratory examination results from a total of 67 samples that have been sent for confirmation tests.

"From the results, two cases were positive for rubella, each from the working area of Kradenan I Health Center and Ngaringan Health Center. Meanwhile, another case was confirmed positive for measles from the working area of Karangrayung I Health Center," said Head of the Grobogan Health Office Djatmiko as reported by ANTARA.

He explained that all confirmed positive patients had received medical treatment according to the standard of service and are currently under the supervision of health workers.

"Of the 67 samples we sent for laboratory examination, three samples were confirmed positive, consisting of two rubella and one measles," he said.

As a follow-up, the Health Office together with the local health center conducted contact tracing to prevent potential wider spread. Monitoring was also carried out for people who have a history of contact with patients.

He appealed to the people in Grobogan Regency to remain calm, but to increase vigilance, especially by recognizing the symptoms of measles and rubella such as fever, red rashes on the skin, cough, cold, and red eyes.

In addition, he said, the public was asked to ensure that children receive measles and rubella (MR) immunizations completely according to schedule.

"Immunization is considered the most effective step in preventing transmission and avoiding Extraordinary Events (KLB)," he said.

The Health Office ensures that it continues to monitor the development of cases and strengthens coordination with all health service facilities to anticipate the possibility of new cases.
