Sukabumi Child Abuse Case Rises in Investigation
SUKABUMI - The case of alleged abuse that befell NS (12) is beginning to see light. The Sukabumi Police have confirmed that they have found sufficient initial evidence of a criminal act with the alleged hot water spraying allegedly carried out by his stepmother TR (47).
The certainty of the existence of this criminal element makes the investigators officially increase the status of the case from investigation to the investigation stage.
Sukabumi Police Chief AKBP Samian revealed that the decision to raise the status of this case was taken after a series of examinations of witnesses and the collection of evidence in the field. The police believe that there was physical and psychological violence against the victim.
"We have obtained sufficient initial evidence that this is a criminal act. From the series of events, we will raise the process in the investigation," said Samian, Sunday, February 22 evening.
Until now, the police have examined 16 witnesses to strengthen the criminal element. Not only relying on witness testimony, investigators also involve forensic psychologists.
Sukabumi Police confirmed that the handling of this case was carried out scientifically and accountable. The police have secured a number of evidence ranging from transaction evidence to video recordings or electronic evidence related to the incident.
"We use the scientific crime investigation method and collaborative investigation so that we will collect evidence in such a way that can be scientifically accountable," he said.
The alleged perpetrator, TR, was picked up by the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Sukabumi Police Criminal Investigation Unit early Sunday morning. Currently, TR is undergoing intensive examination to dig deeper into his role in the alleged violence.
Even though the criminal element has been found. However, to establish the suspect, the police are currently waiting for the results of the autopsy.
"Currently, our TR sister is conducting an intensive examination to delve into her role. Later we will hold a trial to complete (the determination of the suspect)," he concluded.
