He asked the police to collaborate with the community in improving security and comfort for tourists, so that undesirable things do not happen.

"Collaboration of all parties is important, whether it is residents, Village Security Agency (BKD), TNI-Polri in improving security in Central Lombok. Hopefully the perpetrators will be arrested soon," he said.

Previously, the Central Lombok Police were still investigating the perpetrators of the robbery case that hit a Chinese citizen in the Kuta Village, Pujut District.

"We remain committed to uncovering the perpetrators of the case," said Public Relations Officer of the Central Lombok Police, Iptu Lalu Brata Kusnadi, in Praya, Sunday, February 22.

He said that the personnel of the Mandalika Police Station of the Central Lombok Police had moved quickly to the scene of the crime (TKP) for alleged acts of theft with violence (robbery) that had occurred to a foreigner.

His party received a report of the incident on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at around 20.30 WITA.

"After receiving the report, our members immediately headed to the crime scene to conduct a crime scene and collect witness statements," he said.

The victim was known as Rui Bao and the incident that befell the foreigner occurred in the Jalan Dusun Kuta I Gang, Kuta Village, Pujut District.

Based on the victim's statement, on Saturday evening at around 20.30 WITA, the victim was walking alone at the scene.

"Suddenly, an unknown perpetrator using a red motorcycle snatched the victim's bag and immediately fled," he said.

The items in the victim's bag were a passport, cash, ID of Chinese Residence, and a Chinese phone card (SIM card).

After the incident, the victim immediately reported to the Mandalika Police to be followed up.

"Currently, the perpetrator is still in the process of investigation," he said.

He said his party continued to increase patrols in the Mandalika tourist area to create a safe and conducive kamtibmas situation.
