BYD Introduces New Linghui M9 MPV, 7 Passenger PHEV for China's Ride Hailing Fleet
JAKARTA - BYD released official images of the Linghui M9 MPV featuring a 7-seat layout and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain system for the Chinese market. Quoting from the Carnewschina website, Monday, February 23, Linghui itself is a new submerek under BYD which focuses on the taxi market and online transportation services, which was launched earlier this month. Linghui has had several series such as e and M: Linghui e5, e7, e9, and M9. The e series are all pure electric vehicles, while M9 is the only PHEV vehicle.
At the back, there is a "Chinese knot" rear lamp design along with red reflector lamps and chrome trim on the bumper. The tire profile is 235/60R18. In terms of dimensions, the Linghui M9 measures 5,200 mm long, 1,970 mm wide, 1,805 mm high with a wheelbase of 3,045 mm, which is 55 mm longer than the BYD Xia DM-i while the other dimensions remain the same. Power comes from a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T engine, permanent magnet synchronous motor, and Blade battery. The engine has a maximum power of 154 hp and the motor has a power of 200 kW (268 hp), the same as that of the BYD Xia DM-i. Battery capacity has not been determined. For reference, the BYD Xia DM-i is equipped with a 20.39 kWh Blade battery pack that provides a pure electric range of CLTC as far as 100 km.
