Central Lombok Police Investigate Robbery Case Experienced by Foreigners

LOMBOK - The case of snatching experienced by foreign nationals (WNA) from China is still being investigated by the Central Lombok Police, West Nusa Tenggara. His party is looking for the whereabouts of the perpetrator who is suspected of being in the Kuta Village area of Pujut District.

"We remain committed to uncovering the perpetrators in the case," said Public Relations Officer of the Central Lombok Police, Iptu Lalu Brata Kusnadi in Central Lombok, quoting ANTARA, Sunday, February 22.

He said that personnel from the Mandalika Police Station of the Central Lombok Police had moved quickly to the scene of the crime (TKP) of the alleged crime of theft with violence (robbery) that befell a foreign citizen (WNA) from China, Saturday night.

His party received a report of the incident on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at around 20.30 WITA.

"After receiving the report, our members immediately headed to the crime scene to conduct a crime scene and collect witness statements," he said.

The victim was known as Rui Bao and the incident that befell the foreigner occurred in the Jalan Dusun Kuta I Gang, Kuta Village, Pujut District.

Based on the victim's statement, on Saturday evening at around 20.30 WITA, the victim was walking alone at the scene.

"Suddenly an unknown perpetrator using a red motorcycle snatched the victim's bag and immediately fled," he said.

The items in the victim's bag were a passport, cash, ID of Chinese Residence, and a Chinese phone card (SIM card).

After the incident, the victim immediately reported to the Mandalika Police to be followed up.

"Currently, the perpetrator is still in the process of investigation," he said.

He said his party continued to increase patrols in the Mandalika tourist area to create a safe and conducive kamtibmas situation.

He also appealed to the public and tourists, both domestic and foreign, to be more vigilant when carrying out activities, especially at night.

"We appeal that they do not walk alone in a quiet place and do not carry or show valuables conspicuously to avoid committing crimes," he said.
