One year of Pramono-Rano leading Jakarta, execution is asked to be consistent
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Wibi Andrino, assessed that the one-year leadership of the Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung - Rano Karno, has begun to show a more focused policy direction.
However, he reminded that the program that has been designed does not stop at the conceptual level.
According to Wibi, the strengthening of basic services is a marker of policy consolidation in the first year of government. He highlighted the public transportation sector, flood control, to the arrangement of dense areas and green open spaces as clear priorities.
"In the future, the DPRD encourages that these programs not only stop at ceremonies or planning, but are really consistent in execution, targeted, and measurable in their impact. Budget transparency, acceleration of infrastructure spending, and strengthening of field supervision must be a priority," Wibi told reporters, Sunday, February 22.
However, Wibi assessed that Jakarta had not escaped the three classic problems of the capital. He emphasized that these three issues must be the focus of the remaining five-year term.
He reminded that there were still fundamental tasks that could not be delayed, namely flood management, congestion, and poverty. Regarding floods, Wibi emphasized the importance of strengthening control measures, including through the Ciliwung River normalization program.
"We in the DPRD will continue to support the work of the executive so that Jakarta is increasingly free from flood problems," he said.
For congestion, he assessed that the development of public transportation was the key. The DPRD supports the strengthening of Transjakarta services and the integration of Transjabodetabek to reach the buffer area.
"We support the expansion of services to the buffer area to be expanded further, so that congestion can be significantly reduced," he said.
Meanwhile, in an effort to reduce poverty, Wibi emphasized that the sustainability of the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) program remains a concern.
He added, the DPRD will also encourage the strengthening of the merit system and the solidity between regional device organizations (OPD) so that the implementation of programs is more effective. The functions of supervision and absorption of aspirations during the recess, he said, will continue to be optimized.
"We will continue to work with the executive, both through the supervisory function and absorbing aspirations during the recess. The issue must be resolved on the ground, and we hear directly from the public," explained Wibi.
