Bripda Muda Died in Aspol Polda Sulsel, Propam Investigates Senior and Colleagues

MAKASSAR - A member of the National Police with the initials DP was reported to have died at the Police Dormitory (Aspol) of the South Sulawesi Police complex, Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, Makassar. The victim was allegedly subjected to persecution by his senior.

Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Police, Kombes Zulham Effendi, said his party had not been able to confirm whether the victim was a victim of a beating.

However, Propam has examined six people, including the victim's classmates and seniors. The examination is likely to increase according to the development of the investigation.

"We can't be sure whether the victim is a bully or not. What is certain is that we have conducted an examination of six people, including his colleagues or lichting and his senior DP. Maybe it will increase later," Zulham told reporters in Makassar, Antara, Sunday, February 22.

The incident was known after a report from the Sulsel Regional Police's Samapta Directorate regarding the victim's complaint after the morning prayer after sahur. Based on initial information, the victim was said to have fallen ill while in the dormitory and was then rushed to Daya Hospital for medical treatment.

However, the victim was declared dead. The family, who initially received news of the victim being ill, found irregularities when they saw the condition of the body, namely bruises on the body and blood in the mouth.

To determine the cause of death, the body was then taken to Bhayangkara Hospital Makassar for a visum and further examination.

"To prove it, we will take it to Bhayangkara Hospital. I have conveyed to the Head of the Medical Department of the South Sulawesi Police, including to the doctor who examined it, please check it properly, don't cover it up. If there is violence, report it," said Zulham.

He emphasized that the Propam Sector was still investigating the cause of the victim's death. In addition to external and internal visums, an autopsy will be carried out if the family gives permission.

"Of course, all procedures related to this incident will be handled professionally. If there is indeed a suspicious incident or there is violence, we will straighten it out and enforce the rules according to the applicable provisions," he said.

It is known that the victim's father is a member of the National Police who serves in the Pinrang Police. The family is still waiting for the visa process at Bhayangkara Hospital before the body is taken to a funeral home in Pinrang Regency, South Sulawesi.
