Fariz RM Officially Released from Prison After Drug Abuse Case

JAKARTA - Legendary musician Fariz RM is said to have breathed free air after serving his sentence for drug abuse.

Although there was no direct confirmation, his lawyer, Deolipa Yumara, gave a "vague" statement that hinted at his client's freedom.

Deolipa repeatedly used the term "ilmu tanggalan" to explain Fariz RM's current status.

"Actually, if you use the date calculation, everyone understands, he is free, that's it," said Deolipa in South Jakarta, Saturday, February 21.

According to his calculation, Fariz's one-year sentence should have ended.

"Because it should have been February 18th, it was, it was a year," he explained.

Despite being continuously urged to provide a clear confirmation, Deolipa remained consistent with his "floating" answer.

"Well, if you use the date of the harvest, he is free," he repeated.

He even refused to tell where Fariz RM is currently.

"We don't know if he is at home or where his business is, that's it," he said.

However, Deolipa ensured that he continued to maintain an intense communication with the musician.

"Oh if the communication is often. Even yesterday... communication," he said.

When asked if he had met or picked up Fariz after being released, his answer was brief.

"Oh, yes," he admitted.
